Debating on changing my VSS and shaft gear today. Is there a thread that has discussion/tricks and pictures? Can't find one that explains pulling tail cone. Assume this job is a challenge taking off ....with that big support going to rear axle?

wondering if I can complete in an afternoon.
thank you for any advice
You do NOT have to pull anything to replace the VSS. The VSS is in the tail housing extension, left side rear and you only need I believe a 10mm wrench. You may loose a little ATF but there shouldn't be any major concerns.
He does state he wants to replace the drive gear also
I understand how you assumed that from the OP's post but he's only changing the VSS and the driven gear to correct a rear axle ratio change that was done. Driven gear on VSS shaft!
My mistake in assuming the OP knew what he was talking about
Must remember the late CFI-EFI's favorite saying " NEVER assume anything "
Yes to the CFI-EFI but the OP actually just asked a question so ... he had a VSS in his hand and also a gear in his hand, gear slips on VSS. Not having ever done one before I can understand maybe someone having questions about the install procedure.
