We've got out the a/c compressor, its bracket, and all manner of other stuff, preparatory to sending home a new water pump. There's a hose in the there my Dad's recommending we change while it's easy to get to. It's a hose that has a T-fitting, leading to the heater core, a place towards the bottom-front of the engine, towards the water pump, and also someplace forward. (It's been days since I looked at the thing; I could go lift the clamshell and look.) The parts places I've called have said it's not a specific part, and that we would simply indicate what size hose we need, and go from there. Doesn't sound Kosher, going by what we're seeing.
Any ideas? Are the parts folks right? Many thanks in advance for your help.
if I'm reading you right, the "tee" is part of the oil cooler circuit - drops down on the right front to a metal tube under the oil pan, and over the cooler above the oil filter. I'm pretty sure those factory hose assemblies are discontinued, so you just may have to fabricate something - ???
There's 3 different part numbers for the outlet hose depending on the year and you mentioned no year. It's an L98 it seems for sure but you mentioned no year. Which year?
When looking for help always mention year, transmission, engine or anything that may make your question and car maybe unique!
I bought a new one and it was completely different than the old one. The original hose was a single molded piece and the new one was 3 hoses joined together by a metal T:
Thanks for all your help on this matter. Ultimately, we just stuck with what we have, for now. Dad just thought, considering how much has to be removed to get to it, it'd be a good time to do it while we replaced the water pump. Again, thanks!
