I got around to doing a leak check this morning on the new weatherstrip I received from Willcox and installed last weekend, Before I started I noticed that there is a large gap between the B-Piller sides and the rear of the side windows on both the drivers side and passenger side. I tried adjusting the windows and doors but it made no difference. I looked at the factory weatherstrip that I took off and it is much thicker in this area. I emailed Willcox and they said to start a new thread and email them the thread.
I picked up the B pillar weatherstripping from them about three weeks ago and am having the same problem. Upon speaking with two people over at Willcox I was informed that the gap is due to the glass taking a set and the window and/or door being out of adjustment. I was also told that if they sent another one it would be the same. They also asked for a picture of the problem so they could show their manufacturer after which they would get back to me (still waiting).

I ques all willcox can do is wait to here back from the manufacturer, all the other weatherstrip fits real good and I can now remove the targa and replace it with out having to place wait on it, as far as I can tell I have no water leaks anywhere except at the sides of the B-Piller where the windows have that gap.
Is there an adjustment for the glass that lets you move the glass closer to the B-pillar weatherstrip? i.e. that lets the glass put more pressure on the B-pillar weatherstrip?
I know you can move the glass left, right, up, and down, and also tilt the top in and out.

Yes ther is an adjustment that tilts the window in or out, I moved it all the way in and still have a gap and then it places the window in to far for it to seat correctly along the top of the glass.

On tilt in/out, are you referring to the top of the glass tilt in/out?
Was looking to see if you can loosen a bolt or something and move the glass a little closer towards the B-pillar weatherstripping?
I put the B-pilar strip on a couple weeks ago. Came from Willcox too. No adjustment was needed. I got the CRC brand. Hardest part of install was getting the old one off. I did have some difficulty getting the targa top aligned though.
Well considering how many people recommend Wilcox weatherstripping over the years, this is the first I can remember with a problem like this being mentioned...makes me think the stripping you got was a lemon (that's just a guess though).
I'm in the process of doing my weatherstripping that I purchased from Wilcox...just finished the doors no problem with fit there...the B-Pillar and Windows are next, maybe later this week/weekend...I will make sure to pay attention to my fit at the rear windows and will post my results as well once I get to install those pieces. In the mean time I will be keeping an eye on this thread

The rest of the weatherstrip fit great and I am going to place a piece of the original B-Piller that I have left over and see if the door glass seals, if I have the same problem then I will now its not the weatherstrip and I will post.
I've been messaging Eugene direct instead of posting here. We forwarded the pictures on but we have not received a replay. Today we took measurements from both a NOS original and a CRC brand and found there to be a .0095 difference (less than 1/8”).
First please keep in mind that we are not the manufacturer and we will go to war if there is an issue. Most issues with the C4 Weatherstripping are the result of improper adjustment or failure to re-adjust. I'm not saying this is the issue here but it goes to reason. The same goes for the issues that plague the C3 owners with the T-top weatherstrips and the door weatherstrips. You must re-adjust.
This CRC kit is the same kit that we install in our shop and while I’ve had some issues over the years, none have been like the one mentioned in this thread. In dealing with this particular part, the numbers of pieces sold are staggering compared to the number of issues. So much so that I would think there would be more complaints than just the two in this thread. (Maybe there is and we are not aware of it).
Tomorrow I'm going to pull the B pillar weatherstrip on the driver side of my own 87 and see if I can install one of the B pillars we have here. There are no adjustments needed on the door glass, they are perfect.
The weatherstrip I'll be pulling off is a CRC brand weatherstrip that was installed four years ago, the car has never left this building since. The one I will be installing (and I’m not going to glue it in, or doing both sides… we’ll remove the roof panel) will be a off the shelf CRC brand I pulled from stock this morning.
Doing this will tell all of us the issue is the CRC brand flaw or an adjustment issue. I will report back tomorrow.
That is the targa top weatherstrip, with the targa off I still get the gap along the back of the side window's.
If you look at the top of the window where your arrow is you can see the B-Piller making contact with the glass
and at the bottom.

Still would be good to fix the targa weatherstripping.
It seems many do the a and b pillar strips without adhesive and have no issues with water intrusion. In your video you recommend glue, but do you have experience not using it as well? It seems like a hassle to use adhesive, especially if there is an issue after installation.

When the weatherstrips are glued we are pretty much assured there will not be a leak. The first time we'd not use glue, I'm sure we would get a leak'r.
In most cases we use the 3M Super Black depending on the repair (or restoration) we are doing.
