What is the best wire to disconnect for a kill switch?
What is the easiest to access near the battery?
I have looked at the schematic and it is not clear if the disconnecting either or
both of the two red battery wires will disable the ignition.
It looks like the alternator will still be powering the system.
Another possibility is to use the theft deterrent relay.
I unplug my hot wire to the distributor on my 85 .........if I am real paranoid I put a dummy wire in it's place ...........the only way the'll get this car is with a wrecker............ :seeya
Yup, just break the positive wire going to the coil. The starter will still turn over, but no spark=no start! You could also break the fuel pump wire at the fuse block.
I installed a kill switch in my '85 TA (it was TPI). I inserted a switch in the power wire for the fuel pump. It was a large orange wire that ran along the edge of the car (inside) on the driver's side. I've been considering doing the same thing with the Vette.... Have to get after that some day!
