Default climate control help

I have been having intermittent problems with my climate control on my 90. Now it reads no codes the display just shows --- all the time and the fan is on full speed. I just removed it cleaned all the contacts reinstalled and no difference. Any help would be appreciated... Jim S.

The BCM is usually the source of all C-68 control function problems. They run $75 for the cheapo Chinese clones or as much as $125 for GM stock.

Get your FSM and read the flow chart to diagnose BCM failures.

For a measly $100 its nice having all the diagnostic proceedures right there in print, isn't it?

There was a thread on this problem a while back but I couldn't find it. There was a picture of the control head showing the dashes on the display. I did find this:

Thanks for the info. I don't think this is going to much fun. Jim

There are 2 fuses that are involved with the climate control/blower circuit....the CTSY 15amp and the AC Fuse 25 amp...are they OK. Also Ground 201 is involved with both circuits...is it Ok??

Also with the climate control feature if any codes have been detected you have to remove the CTSY fuse or disconnect the battery to reset the system.

Both fuses are good. I didn't know about the ground. Can you give me a location? Thanks........Jim

Ground 201 is located below the LH side of the instrument panel, on the kick plate. I mentioned the fuses and ground just to make sure that the simple things have been eliminated.

I suspect however that the A/C programmer has failed. According to the FSM if you get 3 dashes on the control head that's an indication of programmer failure.
