Default Wiring

Pulled my wiring harness from my car, it was long gone. 1989 auto. I bought a painless wiring engine harness 60102. The kit has a few wires I must wire myself. A pink wire labled ignition, a brake switch wire, neutral park indicator wire, fuel pump power wire, and a coolant fan relay ground wire. Where do I wire these at? Ive also have these 5 plugs unused now in the pic. What do they all goto? I no longer need any vats or a/c wiring. Also the vss wire is a single yellow one, do I just run the purple one to a ground?

Not knowing much about your project it's difficult to comment but the Painless instructions are generally very good and cover every thing. Did they supply you with a set/ If not here's a link for the number you mention purchasing:

This 60102 search gave me 8 threads:

I would guess that wire goes to the BATT terminal on the distributor cap.

That goes between the shifter switch and the ECM. The ECM adjusts the idle speed when you shift into a gear.

The ECM controls the coolant fan. The fan relay is on the driver's side wheel well under the brake master cylinder.

Default connectors...

new to the vette, so take what I say as what it is...

the 2 wire connector black plug looks like the courtesy light connector.
the longer ones (there are two) not sure where they all go, i know they have something to do with the rear hatch pop. was messing with both of them a little while ago looking for connectors for the CDM. If I find out more, I'll let you know.

This is all assuming you're under the dash on the passenger side... those plugs look familiar.

All I can say now to possibly help you out is that none of them plug up to the Interior Light Delay Timer or the Door Lock Relay or the Computer or Transmission (at least on my '85).

I would like to know what those 2 wide slim black plugs on the right plug up to too. I have my dash apart and have those 2 hanging out on the side of the cd player location. I used to know what they were for.. but have forgotten since they've been disconnected for so long and didn't label them.

Damn I hate wiring.

My recollection is that all the connections between the ECM and the engine go through that connector. I'm 200 miles from home (and my FSM), so I can't say more than that.

Check this out if you haven't already
http://chevythunder.com/fuel%20injec...ts.htm#1986-89 pinouts (ecm #1227165)

Most (or all) of those pins connect to the 2 ECM plugs.. so you should be able to figure out what's what on that "dual plug" if you read that link.
I have half of my old harness on my lap right now..

If it helps, that black squarish looking plug in the first pic with the 5/6 pins in it.. I have it labelled "wasn't connected" & mine has 6 pins in it not 5 like yours (unless there's another plug which looks just like it). So it's most likely something minor.

Oh sh*t. Edit:
I have "MAF" written on the purple wire coming from one of the pins + "to nothing" written on the blue wire + the pink/blk wire merges with another pink/blk wire coming from that light-grey-dual-connector which I wrote "EGR control" on.
