The cam in the L98 won't clear without tilting the engine. Hmmm lets see.....
Plenum
Runners
Accessories
Harmonic Balancer/Dampner
Water Pump
Timing Cover
Timing Chain & Gears
Vacuum Lines
Distributor
Intake Manifold
Valve Covers
Rocker Arms
Pushrods
Lifters
Oil Pan (to do a proper timing cover seal)
Cooling Fan
Radiator
AC Condensor (can move it out of the way and keep system charged)
Power Steering Cooler
Front Sway Bar (had to do this and cooler to get my balancer off easier)
That sounds like everything!!! You really almost have to take the engine out. Ouch! It sucks that it costs $600 to install a $200 part! Gotta plan it and do it all at once I guess.
devilfish,
When I changed my cam I did not have to tilt the engine to pull the cam. I have heard of many people having to do this, so you may have to. If you do, make sure you don't tilt the motor back so far that you push the oil pressure switch/sender into the firewall.
