Default Injector question

Hello,
I bought a '92 Corvette for a Father/Son project. The car has a bad cam, so we are replacing it with a ZZ4 cam, as well as new lifters, springs, rocker arms, and push rods. I have a custom chip to be programmed as well. Everything else is stock for now. What injector do you recommend for it? Any Ford type that you would suggest? I've been reading a little about the Bosch III, with mixed reviews. Read something else about '92 using a 22# injector.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated...

Who is doing the custom chip? Dyno tune or just off specs or is it done by data logging?

Aklim,
Thanks for the link. Thats exactly what I was looking for. As for the chip, I bought it from a member on CAC. He has an order form to fill out, and then he sends the chip back burned to my specs. I'm not sure if I will use him or find someone else. Looks like he got banned from CAC for advertising and never proving his claims.

Dyno tuning, IMO is best. Where is your location? Next best would be tuning with data logs.

Yeah I agree with you on the dyno tuning. I had it done to my Saleen with an SCT tuner, and it was like night and day difference.

Since this is my first Vette, what tuner or chip is everyone using for these C4's? Obviously its not a hand held tuner. I know most shops are tuning only for SCT or Diablo.

SCT is for dyno tuning? When my vette was dyno tuned, we had it strapped onto a chassis dyno and they kept altering the program till they had it optimized.

I don't know what everyone is using but I had it brought to Elk River MN and they did strap in on and tweaked the program. Previously when Lingenfelter was alive, I did bring it to him and he had also run it that way and on the street to get drivability down pat. Obviously, they did a base program first since it was different than stock but they had to keep revising it till it was dialed in just right.

You should fill up your location so we can guide you better.

I have an SCT on my Saleen. I doubt they have anything for this Vette.

Sorry, I didn't realize my location was blank. I'm currently in lovely Afghanistan.

Not sure about facilities in Afghanistan. When you are back, where will you be?

I updated my Profile. I will be back to Ft Hood Texas. I just located a shop that does dyno tuning in the area.

You could use the stock injectors, they will work fine. If you are replacing them because they are junk then choose one with a similar flow and have it tuned.

This is a set of 20 years old injectors. Not sure if they are Multec units. I'd definitely dump them.

According to an FIC video, it was made from 89-94. If so I suspect it is junk. Regardless, they are old and should be tested so as to whether it is worth it or not, I'd say not.

I agree with you. Its the stock Multecs. I'm going to purchase the ones from your link. Thats a great price for an updated injector.
