Default Need 700R4 help

I have the trans go shift kit installed in my 700R4 trans it does shift better but 1st to 2nd shifts at 10 mph and when coming to a stop the down shift 2nd to first, bangs really violently. I am afraid it will damage something.

The trans is out of a 88 F-body. I have tried the TV cable and set it with someone in the car pedal to the floor and the TV cable fully extended with just a little slack as recommended by transmission folks on the web. The TV cable has about 3/4 inches slack at idle.

3/4" of slack is a lot!...

My 91 Vette, has No slack at idle...I'd readjust the TV cable again.

Press the "D" or "Square" shaped TV cable button and while you have the button pressed, move the ratchet bracket back towards the fire wall, then release the button. NOW, slowly open the throttle and listen for the clicks all the way to WOT, your done.

.
