Default Water pump and Opti

My 96 needs a water pump.
The car runs fine, but while I have the pump off I plan on servicing the Opti as in a new cap and rotor and possibly ignition wires.

Question: Would it be a good investment to go with an MSD cap/rotor or should I just use quality OEM style parts from NAPA and save the money.

I will also replace the water pump and Opti oil seals, upper and lower hoses, T-Stat and the belt. Its going to need an intake gasket also to fix an oil leak soon.

The car has 125000 miles and I have no history of prior maintenance done.

Thanks,
Paul

The ‘96 has the actively vented cap us ‘94 and earlier guys turn for. So I don’t know if there’s any benighted to an MSD— some people love ‘en, some people hare ‘em🤷🏼‍♂️.

definatly new wires if your still running OME.

Hope that helps... though yes, the horse is still desc😉

If I was going to do it, I would replace with NAPA quality. I havent done Optis in a while, but the ones I took apart had normal wear and corrosion, just like a regular cap and rotor. Use loctitie on the screws holding the rotor in.
Being sealed they are better for longevity.
Definitely change plugs and wires while there.
