Is it just me or does that small 2core intercooler seem really heavy for something out of aluminum? I'd swear it weighs twice as much as my Griffin radiator which is the same thickness and 4x the core area. Is there something drastically different in the cores these things use, or is it those cast end tanks??
Yes, they do seem to be rather heavy. But one thing I can say is that they are not a fragile as a radaitor. At least for my L-98, being under the headlight bucket their streigth is a nice feature. I'm sure I would have crushed it easily suring installation if they were as fragile as a radaitor. Getting those hoses on is a tight squeeze.
 very tight squeeze :yesnod: but i am going to take my out...any suggestions on cleaning those baby one cores under the head lights? should i use mineral spirits or what?
My intercooler is very light weight. It is an ATI 2 core. Patrick96LT4 they do make a kit for your GS. ATI makes an intercooled setup for the 96 LT4"S. Call Mike at superchargers4less.com for more info.
How come everybody else has dual 1-cores in the headlight area, and I wound up with a single 2-core that sits in front of my radiator, blocking the air?
gcrouse,
The early L-98's (85-89) got the radiator mount and the 90-91 L-98's got the (2) single core intercoolers due to the revision of the angle of the radiator and the AC core.
I like the quality of the ATI I have the same as Blown96vette... seems they could use some help in the shipping department, but the weihght is about what I expected
Blown96vette your sytem looks great... if I ever get my hoses I'll have my car back together 10 weeks and counting... is your S/C an ATI ? How much boost you running?
