How do I reset my computer after a code has been thrown?

How do I reset my computer after a code has been thrown?
I got a code 43 which is either a knock sensor, or spark control unit (behind) ignition coil failure. The car still runs fine, and the Check Engine light no longer comes on.
After checking knock sensor connections (I had cut them at one time to wire in resistors, which I ahve since removed) I determined they were ok.
However after scanning the car again, even though my check engine light is off, my auto x-ray still says Code 43 Electronic Spark Control Failure....how long will this code stay in there? If I disconnect the battery will it be gone? Once again, my check engine light no longer comes on, and when it did, it was only for 5 seconds or so.
Any help would be appreciated!

The code will remain until it is cleared. Disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery for a few seconds should clear the codes.

Leave the battery disconnected for at least 30 seconds. I usually leave it disconnected for a few minutes to be sure.
