Over the years in the race section there has been plenty of the same question. Many people win races on the stock springs so coil overs aren't shown as necessary. They will help adjust the ride to you liking/comfort, and adjust to each track/changing track conditions. There are a lot of good things about them except for the cost. I don't have them on my car but wouldn't mind them. I have stronger springs which were about $200.
Coil overs are cool, but does anyone have real world data that they help with corning or ride or???? It's an expensive way to lower a car.
TIA
If lowering the car is your goal, then buy the lowering kit, and be done. You also can buy new springs designed to lower the C4s about an inch in the front.

Thats the thing I like about mine. I give it few clicks to the left for comfort, and I want to play I give it few clicks for performance.
I got to say I have sports monospring on Betty Boop, and coilovers on The Ghost, and I would drive circles around Betty Boop.
One last thing, you can have LG coilovers, and if you have lousy tires it will not matter how good your coilovers are..

Hi
It allows you to change springs to suit the ride you want, coilover springs are readilly available and is very easy to go for stiffer or softer spring rates. $90 for a spring. Of course your springs, shock absorbers and swar bars need to be matched to control the suspension movement.
The QA1 coilovers have all the hardware to fit them, for some coilovers you need to move the front sway bar forward. I did not have to do this with the Koni coilovers.
Yes you can adjust the shockabsorbers to suit tracks with full compression and rebound adjustment, see the link about how shock absorbers work.
For track use use the double adjustable QA1 kit from Vansteel they come with the hardware you need to fit them to a C4, for street you can go for the single adjustable ones.
