Disconnecting the battery on a 1994 will not clear the codes.
Leave the paperclip in grounding terminals #12 and #4. With the ignition in the "on" position, press the trip set button on the DIC until the desired system is displayed. For you case it will probably be the 4.0. Press the trip/odo button on the DIC until the desired diagnostic mode (4.7) is displayed on the trip monitor area of the cluster. Press and hold the eng/met button on the DIC until "___" is displayed on the speedometer area of the cluster, this will clear the PCM codes.
Note that there are two levels on your codes...the other being ABS/ASR codes. To clear these, do the same as above, but your looking for the "9.7" on the trip odo.
It took me a couple of times trying this to get it right.
If you have a front wheel bearing ABS issue, (very common issue) that code will not clear. It will however go away by itself if you R&R the hub. The easiest diagnosis is to buy a new hub, disconnect the ABS plug on each side one at a time (without removing the bearing/hub from the car) and plug the ABS/ASR sensor connector to the new hub. If the bearing is bad, the code will simply dissapear. If thta's trhe case, install the new bearing. If it's not the fix, return the bearing for credit. Ask me how I know....
P.S. The 1993 Firebird front bearing works and is <$100 versus >$200 for a C4 unit. Search elsewhere here for details.
