Default Getting there..

Hey all,

I just had some general tune up stuff done to my '94 and it's been running pretty good....as long as the AC is off. If I'm running with the AC on it really makes the car fall on its face.

I know that running the AC is gonna rob the power of the car but it really does make it stumble, and it sounds like it's backfiring through the intake as I can hear some subdued popping coming from the hood as I try to pull up a hill at speed.

Spark delivery is working fine, Opti is functional, New plugs and wires just 3 weeks ago.

Where should I start looking next?

check the IAC... it's what controls the idle and such. IAC = Idle Aid Control.

I had the same problem, changing back to a OEM coil from the MSD unit and gapping the plugs at .050 fixed the problem.

Plugs I believe are properly gapped, the coil might be suspect though. As far as I know the coil is the one that came from the factory. It only turned 30K today, but time may have made it start to fail too.
