Default Help, what is that plate?

See the plate in the middle of the engine attached to the pulley, what is it for?
And
What is the best way to clean all that spray paint?
Does the cruise look right?

Most often referred to as the "Frisbee". You can remove it without impact. Just looks like the rubber boot on the cruise needs to be straightened out.

A lot of people remove the so called frisbree but it does have functions. It helps prevent belt squell when the a/c kicks on and off. It also helps balance the waterpump. It also dampens the surges when the a/c is turned on and off. There are several things you can do to freshen up paint. Black is either flat gloss or semi pick what you need for each part. the runners are and valve covers are a color called nickel this can be had at any hdw store. the plastic parts like rad cover hoses can be done with 303 marine protectent. it may take several coats and time to get the black plastics back to where you want but it can be done. I can not tell you how many times I have gone over the inner fenders, rad cover hoses and such for theem to come out really nice. The inner fendes can just be sprayed with black paint then you will always have to do it to even touch it up. Mine after about 6 moths of on and off with 303 they look like new most of the time, To touch them uo just a fast spray and wipe down and done. The V/C have a textured finish to get this you will need to get any color textured paint then repaint it with the nickel. You can always have everything done by powder coating. also there is no reason to worry about the V/C or intake paint being high heat. and no reason to waste your money at places that sell restoration parts they just change the labels hope this help take your time do not get distoraged it takes a lot of work and time but the results are worth it
