OK, here's the story. I started out by taking out my AC Delco's to do the "Cut Plugs" Mod. Afterwards, the car felt the same, which I expected, but I thought that I had cut too much off them and didn't re-gap on an angle so I decided to get another set and do it again. The guy at the speed shop talked me into AC Delco Splitfires instead and said NOT to re-gap them. They were pre-gapped to .045 compared to stock which is .035. After much debate on my post, I left them at .045. The problem is that I lost some torque in the 2000 - 2800 range.
Should I re-gap the Splitfires to .035 or by another set of AC Delco's and Cut them??? Could a .010 of extra gap cause this??? It also seams to idle rougher???
