C4 Tech/Performance L98 Corvette and LT1 Corvette Technical Info, Internal Engine, External Engine

Won't pass emissions

Default Won't pass emissions

Took car today for emissions test hc 2521 before i changed thermostat,back to stock,fan switch and chip reprogramed new hc readings around 1800 still to high any suggestions?

For some reason you have raw fuel hitting the sniffer so thats where you need to start.

I would not think that the thermostat would have a large impact on your numbers, nor the fan switch. with Kimmer....your getting too much unburned fuel running thru the system. Check plug wires, new plugs and gap correctly. Did you change injectors to a larger than stock size? Really wondering about your new chip.

Do you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? If so, did you turn it up to increase the pressure.

You also need to include the YEAR of your car in your post. It makes a difference in being able to help you with your problem.

When my car had high HC counts, I raised the idle to almost 1400 rpm and it passed with flying colors.

I don't know where the OP is, but a 1400 RPM idle would be a fail in
California.

It has 24lb injectors

42# with the vacuum line removed.

Check fuel pressure bleed down rate too, it should hold pressure.

I sent my chip back to pcm4less and alvin suggested that i try heated o2 sensors will that help?
