smog pump, egr.
thanks
To overcome this you can have the ECM reprogrammed or insert a diode in a cable between the EGR command line and the EGR Temp sensor line. Here simply splice in the new cable into each line.
thanks
why would you want to remove this stuff?
unless you are planning to "upgrade" the engine internals, this "stuff" isn't hurting anything. In fact, on a motor designed to run WITH EGR and other things, as stated above the ECM will look for EGR under certain conditions and when it does not get it....it sets a code and throws itself back into OL mode.

These engines are not 60's muscle car engines. They are made to work WELL with this "stuff". People start hacking up a technological advanced engine control system and end up with a POS that does not run right and they wonder why..? or they trash talk the car like its the problem.
So, again, WHY? because its not esthetically appealing under the hood? Hint: no ones looking under the hood ! They're looking at the car.
My God, you got a friggin Corvette !
what else could a human being ask for? Any idea of how many people on this planet are only able to DREAM of driving a Corvette? much less owning one?
I'm not trying to pick a fight here....I am just lost on why people want to start hacking up the engine controls and emissions the minute they THINK they know better than a GM engineer....

My advice as someone that's owned muscle cars AND Corvettes....leave it alone until you're ready to pull $10,000 out of your retirement to 'build' a motor. Nothing wrong with this one as is.. In fact, leaving it alone only increases the value of the car. Start fuc&ing with it and the value drops like a stone.

But if u don't want to contaminate the incoming fuel/air mixture and just have to keep it as cool as possible and don't care about MPG and want a cleaner engine compartment here is a nice plate for under 20 bucks for a block off and just put all the stuff away somewhere in a box and save it.

I have run my vette without the EGR valve for 8-10 years, you just need to remove the ERG check in tunerpro and you will no longer get EGR codes. Your engine does not blow up if the EGR is not operational, it is an emissions device to reduce NOX emissions by lowering combustion temperatures by recirculating some exhaust back to the inlet manifold and engine.
It does this when you are on a steady cruise, it will not operate at idle or wide open throttle.

The hole in the exhaust I didn't worry with as I installed headers instead when I did the swap out.
