I have one injector which is shorted and has to be unplugged in order for the engine to run. I am going to install SVO 24# injectors in the Vette. I need to have it E-Checked, should I take it and have it checked before the change, even though it's running on seven cylinders or will it pass E-Check with the 24# injectors. This is on our 90 stock vert, L98.
Thanks
Bill :) :)

I have another year to go, so I'm not thinking about that too much - I just did the change over. It'll definately challenge the computer to take out enough fuel to compensate. A good condition catalytic converter would be a plus to bring down all the HC this mod adds. I seem to be doing OK now after modding the PROM to a 26 #/hr constant (from 23#). Still the O2 sensor spends more time high (rich) than low... Could be something else (leaking 9th injector?) Dunno, yet.
Leaving the injector unplugged is delivering 7/8 the fuel with 7/8 the cylinders combusting - seems like break even in terms of smogging. Might be your better bet.

Hey, you're in luck! Modern science has come up with the answer to your emissions problems!
I was watching The Nascar Channel...Er, Speed Vision...SpeedChannel...Or whatever they call it this week...And they have an Emissions Check-in-a-Can now!!!
Just pour it in your gas tank, and let them check!!!
There's other products that will swell up dried valve seals; seal your leaky piston rings; and even decrease oil usage!!!
Corvette owners never have to worry about emissions or oil burning or anything ever again!!!
(If your local cable company doesn't carry The Nascar Channel, call or write to request it!)
