Starting issue.
Starter is good.
I've changed the starter relay.
when i ran a wire from my solenoid to my battery's positive, it's cranking but not turning over. (i believe i said that all correctly)
my anti-theft light isn't on.
I've tried taking off my negative battery cable waited about a minute and hooked it back up.
I've tested all my fuses, they were good.
In the morning i will check to see if my spark plugs are firing off.
Could there be something wrong with my ignition switch as well as something else?
Any suggestions please make them extremely simple!
The SECURITY light is controlled by the TDS (Theft Deterrent System). It's the one that honks the horn if a door is opened while it is armed. There is no connection between the TDS and VATS (Vehicle Anti-Theft System).
It sounds like you have a VATS problem. It disables the starter and the injectors. It reads the resistor pellet in the ignition key when you turn on the ignition. It is very common for the pellet contacts to get dirty and not make a good connection inside the ignition cylinder (clean the key). It is also fairly common for the wires connected to those contacts to break (they are very small and flex every time the ignition cylinder is moved). Sometimes the contacts inside the ignition cylinder get bent. You can see them if you look into the key hole in the ignition cylinder.
When you turn the ignition cylinder to the START position you should hear the starter enable relay click. It is located behind the DIC (Driver Information Center), which is where all the status lights are located.
