Default Tune-up Time

Hey there everyone! Since I recently hit 100k miles I feel the need to do a overdue tune-up/overhaul.

So far I have intake valve cover gaskets, PS pump, water pump, ALL gaskets for intake, I will be tuneing the rockers because of ticking, transmission filter, I will be doing coolant flush and an oil/tranny fluid change, valve cover gaskets, EGR temp switch connector replacement, distributor checked and readjusted.

I'm just curious as to what you guys think would be a good idea to replace since the top end will be apart. Anything to do with transmission and engine/emission. I MIGHT cut my catalytic converters due to them being ripped open and rattling anyways. No regulations in Florida

I assume this is an L98?

I would consider roller rockers and head gaskets.

If you are going to do the cats, might as well replace the entire exhaust with true duals.

I highly recommend NGK plugs, NTK O2 sensors, Taylor wires.

there are no adjustments in the distributor. Just check the gear and the bearings.

Sorry, yes, it is the L98.

I have already replaced the plugs with ACDelco about 1500 miles ago.

As for head gaskets, if I can get my hands on a set while I'm at work today I will replace them.

The exhaust system is stock and I had planned on keeping it that way but since the cats will most likely be coming out I'll get a new system if I can find one relatively cheap. Nothing that'll make it screaming loud. Again, I'd like it to sound relatively stock.

I do have a Bosch O2 sensor drifting around here somewhere, just need to find it. I do still have the recept. If you think the NGK is a better fit I will switch the Bosch for that.

What roller rockers would you recommend? I had a set of Comp Cam rockers in a 305 camaro and loved the sound of the tick. Money is a bit tight for this tune-up though.

I've been looking at aftermarket fan temperature switches to turn on at either 200 which shuts off at 190, 195 which shuts off at 185, 190 which shuts off at 180, or 180 which shuts off at 175. I'm gonna put in a 180 thermostat. I'm trying to keep the temp around 195 or 200 for the best driving conditions. Any ideas on which would be the best fan switch? I was thinking the 190 would be enough. Corvette central has those.

Bump.

I've been looking at oil pressure switch/senders and I'm getting two options. One with light and one with gauge. I assume I need the one with gauge but I do also have the digital red "light" that alerts you when you're low on oil, the red bar that is right next to the oil pressure numbers. Which sender do I need?
