That is a definite possibility. True.

Reassembled tonight with new opti.

Vroom, vroom!!! Started right up and sounds awesome.

Many thanks to everyone who chimed in and held my hand thru this process.

All that's left is to burp the radiator and give it a good wash.

I'm looking forward to Saturday cruise.

No need to 'burp'.... the LT1 burps itself. (yes, I have read all the bubble stories, etc.). Just run the engine, check coolant level after cool-down, add coolant, if necessary.

Great! Thanks. What about the bleed screw on the thermostat housing, though? I assume that needs to be burped.

No..... just fill the system.... run the engine to op temp.... let it cool down... check coolant level at the reservoir, and overflow bottle.

Yes, I'm aware of the bleed screws.....you will notice that the reservoir is positioned at the highest point. Air will flow to the reservoir, and will be purged to the overflow bottle when the pressure allows, and out to the atmosphere.
