Door Window Glass Tilt Adjustment
I bought this car with a broken ribbon......the window never worked until now. I seem to have it going up high enough and straight, but when closing the door, the glass at the top hits the targa weatherstrip first and almost moves or flexes the glass by about 1/4".
Is this normal?
If not, is there an adjustment to tilt the glass slightly away from the targa weatherstrip?
Thanks

You should have upgraded after drilling the extra hole and creating a bumpstop at the bottom it works great.
good luck

Pay particular attention to the bolt inside the door facing to the front of the car (circled)
That catches the window and the angle of the glass, that can be adjusted by loosening the screw (inside the door) there are two that hold the guide to the door.
(Is easy to remove the guide to see what i mean lower the window a little, scribe the bolt location and remove the two guide securing bolts. Now you can remove the guide and see the bolt that affects the angle of the side glass.)
You need a small socket set and you can get to the guide angle adjustment, i CLOSE the door with door trim removed and loosen the bolt (wiggle the glass) then tighten. (the glass will be flush against the weatherstrips when door is closed)
You should be able to close the door without resistance from the weatherstrips to the first click as the door latch catches about a 1/4 of an inch difference at the bottom of the glass as the top glass touches the weatherstrip. Then the door will close very easilly.
I had to fix my left door as the top of the window would hit the weatherstrip and there was almost an inch gap at the bottom glass to weatherstrip.

Note there is a "stop bracket" toward the front of the door, that can be adjusted if the glass goes to high or not all the way up.
