headlight

went out for an eveing ride, to the strip no less...parked came back few hours later and turned on lheadlights and one side got helled up, taped the side of the headlight motor and a ok, this happened a few months ago and i did the same thing ...so my question is, is it the busshing? it makes no sounds when worksing at all..and the tap with the ballpein hammer works...should i wait till its fried >>replace the motor?

MY 85 only needed new headlight gear to make it work like a new one. Easy to replace the gear if you would like to tackle the job.

if it works again with a tap....that's NOT the gear. Its the contact breakers inside the motor that are burnt and in need of adjustment. Once apart, installing 2 new gears sure won't hurt.
