revmax stall converter...
You can get PI to cut the TC for you and if you don't like the stall, they will restall which is better to simply making it stall for you at a certain speed.

I had it restalled over the winter because I missed on the estimated stall need. I ran it in the '11, '12, & '13 racing seasons while driving it to work daily.
How well does it work? Well, this is from racing it during the '13 season:

I'm also running one in my '57 Bel Air with 403 cid LS/4L80E. Don't have a pic of the results from this year with it all in one place, but let's just say I haven't been too disappointed (the haul from a couple of weekends, for example):

They will stall to spec. He's hit it pretty close for these just based on what I told him about the engine & car, and what stall I thought I wanted.
My son has a 2001 S10 Blazer that he bought with an LS1 clone and 4L60E swapped in. They had put a Yank in it. It took a lot of RPMs to get moving on the street, and seemed too much on the track. He pulled it and put in one from RevMax spec'd exactly like what I have in the Camaro, much happier with it.
I'm considering putting one in the Vette eventually. It could use more stall.

They are very popular in the performance truck crowd, which should tell you that they can build a unit that will hold up. Those sprayed, propane-injected, inter-cooled turbo diesels put out some insane power.
Also, I'm running a 4L80E (which I understand you aren't). I talked to a local company that is big with local racers, and he was all good until I mentioned the stall I was looking for. He said he'd never built a 4L80E converter with that much stall, and he'd have to look into it. A couple days later, he called back and said he "thought" he could build it with..., and named off some parts. I called RevMax after that, gave them the same information I gave the local guy, they said, "Yeah, we build about 6 of those a week," and clicked off from memory the same list of parts the local guy had to research.
They may not have Yank or Vig's reputation (yet), and yes, I did have to pay for the restall I did in '11, but I still paid less than I would have paid for a "free" restall from Vig.
What I'm saying is, they aren't a fly-by-night, new-guy-on-the-block outfit. They know what they're doing, and can deliver what you want.
