Here we go again on testing your knowledge. NHRA does not allow
any type of traction control. Mine is a 96 collectors edition, so how do you disable it???
Hoping for a fuse, but can't find one marked as such. [AND for my friends out there with a sense of humor - I can't use the control on the dash.]
Button to the left of the steering wheel, above the headlight switch. Labelled w/a pic of the rear of a vette, leaving skid marks.
EDIT: Why can't you use the button on the dash??
.
because traction control is illegal under NHRA rules. They are not going
to trust any one not to use it, especially the driver. So it needs to be
disabled. Putz
Is this in some sort of Competition? Because I've run my TC equipped car at an NHRA track (and in some NHRA sanctioned bracket racing events) and no one ever said peep to me about TC. Of course I turn it off, b/c TC makes it significantly slower. Every new car made today has it, and some, you can't disable it. I think you need to clarify the rules w/your track, but if you want to disable it, unplug the brake fluid sensor on your master cylinder reservoir. ABS/ASR lights will come on and ASR (TC) will be 10-7.
