If it's a squeak, it's more likely a U-joint. Wheel bearings tend to rumble more than squeak.
Raise that wheel clear of the ground, release the E-brake if you can do so without having the car roll, and grab the wheel at the 3-o'clock and 9-o'clock position. Try to rock it back and forth, and see if there's excessive play. If not, the bearing's probably fine -- check the joints next.
U-joints tend to squeak at a different rate as the speed changes. Also, it is a pulsing squeak. It's caused by the cap turning inside the strap, which should not happen. It's the roller bearings inside the cap that are supposed to turn.
Usually the roller bearings rust and the cap seizes on the trunion. Then the only way it can move is if the cap turns inside the strap.
I had a rusted U-joint on a vehicle I used to own. When I took it apart it looked sorta like this except totally dry and most of the needles were ground to powder:
The car has a over a 150 K on it I am thinking about just going and rebuilding the whole rear end of the car. Whose parts do you recommend I use for the job AutoZone O riley’s ect ? I will just go ahead and replace both wheel bearings and all U joints while I am there. Would like to know what you guys think is the best place to buy the parts.
