Default **** idle

try to always keep the idle at 650....yet at idle it shows anywhere from 64-66, 67 when idling...even though it's idling smooth....sometimes it take a few seconds for it to get down to the proper idle.....sometimes drops right down....is this normal?...am I mising something?.......can I expect it to stay at 65 only when idling....?? Just wondering why sometimes it's slow getting down.....

So your talking about a 10-20 rpm surge? Most likely the a/c and/or cooling fan turning on causing that.

Clean your IAC , take the bottom off the throttle body and clean the passages the air travels through...These get gummed up and can cause the IAC to stick or react slowly..Use carb cleaner or throttle body cleaner to clean off the pintle (tip) of the IAC.....WW

I have a Crower 221/230 cam and I'm able to idle at +/- 20 RPM. I think a little wander is normal.

I wouldn't worry about a little bit of variation... I think as long as you don't have a hunting idle your fine...WW
