The easiest way to get it is to pull the distributor. i was able to get to one on my 85 using two 12" extensions. This was on the driver's side.

I pulled my distributor to get to mine , but you should be able to get to it by just removing the distributor cap...It's fairly easy to replace , just unscrew the old and screw in the new one...If there isn't any sealer on the threats already, just put on a little paste or high temp RTV to seal it....They make a special socket to fit over the sender but you can use a wrench to turn it .....WW

I see you are a new member (Oct-14)....it is suggested that when posting problems, to include the year of your Corvette.

And, if you are serious about learning how to fix your vette, that
you follow the advice given to you as possible solutions by lifting
the hood and analyzing what has been suggested.

Asking how difficult the repair may be depends on your wrench skills, which are not evident in your post.

Please accept this post as constructive criticism, and not an insult to your post. All vette problems are invited to be posted, as there is a large forum knowledge base here to help.

I did this on my 84 recently..

Took off the dist cap and four plug wires to get it out of the way... and got in there no problem..
