I want to bypass the coolant line running through the throttle body. Is there an adapter sold for this purpose or can I just use a piece of copper line between the hoses?
Go to Home Depot, get a 5/8 inch hose to hose adapter, cost is about $1.50, use the existing hose clamps. This should take you about 10 minutes to do the job.
I got a U-shaped piece of heater hose (from AutoZone), cut one side short enough to gring the hose out under the IAC & TPS and left the other end long enough to extend down behind the AIR hoses where I spliced into the shortened heater hose.
For the splice you just need a plastic or brass splice tube and two heater hose clamps.
To dress up the job, put a large vacuum nipple (from Auto Zone) onto each TB water fitting.
If you do not change hoses (or have not done that lately) you may need a 3/4 connector. I did it that way at first as a test. The 5/8 was a little loose for my taste and the 3/4 a little snug. I prefer the snug fit for coolant hoses. Less chance for leaks.
I have bypassed the coolant to the manifold but there looks to be coolant going to the plenum as well. Been wondering how to bypass that or am I seeing something else?
