Is there supposed to be an audible warning to let you know you've left your side lights on when leaving the car? if there is mine has never worked on my 94, I'm guessing it would be to do with the chimes but then that's never worked for anything else either, I've looked through the FSM for "chimes" or "Audible warning" but cant find any reference to it, what would it come under in the FSM?
Anxious to see what you find out, how you fix it, and how easy and costly it is.
Following the diagnostic in the FSM the fuse checked out OK, so it would seem it's down to a bad wire or the Tone Generator having failed (which is buried in behind the DIC) and I'm willing to bet it wont be as simple as that! but it's a job thats got to go on the back burner for a while, I've more pressing issues with a knock/tap from the engine..

I don't think its behind the DIC. I think its behind the main instrument panel.
Mine is a 91, and it appears to be behind the main instrument section, near the top. I think I'd rather have it behind the DIC.
Yours is also behind the DIC, if you look at the image in the FSM you'll see that it's directly in line with the sun-load sensor, I've see anything that is center of dash or behind the DIC referred to 'left' side IP. The FSM image should be something near 201-2 maybe.

I'll check again. With my first look, I thought it was behind the DIC, but a second look made me think its behind the main instrument panel. I'll have to look for the sun-load sensor in the diagram.
Thanks.
Fri. am:
It appears that you are correct. It also appears that you get at it from the top down, not by removing the DIC. It looks rather difficult, but I guess I'll have to give it a try.
Thanks, again.

For what it is worth - I had the same problem - I like to use the side marker and lower driving lamps during the day, but the Corvette warning chime only works about 50% of the time and I can leave these on. After exploring on the Forum, I did not want to go into the dash etc. for this relatively minor issue. Solution was a new circuit I added independent of the Vette electronics. Using a double pole double throw 12v relay and 12 volt Radio Shack buzzer, the total cost was $10. Similar parts are available on Amazom for same money.
I hooked into the drivers side marker lamp hot wire and a chassis ground to power the relay. Then from the wiring harness along the frame I used the pink wire which is switched to the ignition (hot 12 volts only when engine is running). The buzzer is hooked up to the relay with the ground wire switched through the relay and the buzzer is mounted just inside the driver's door frame. Now when I turn off the engine this new buzzer works 100% of the time, and is joined in chorus with the Vette chime sometimes.I can live with this arrangement and it is not interfering in the complexities of the cars electronics.

Good work
This is a pretty common problem BTW. My chime module doesn't work either. As others have commented, getting to the module is a little bit of work as it is buried under the top of the dash. On my 90, the dash pad has to come off to get to it.
