Hey guys, I already pulled the fuel rail and put paper under the injectors to see if any are leaking. Problem I'm having is I can't conect the fuel injector connectors to the injectors. Not enough slack. Any help is appreciated. 93 LT1
If I force it, it feels like it will break. I put the key in accessory mode, and saw a small gas leak on one of my papers. I put my finger under every injector, and felt fuel on 3 of them. But I was moving the fuel rail. Not sure if they leaked because of me moving the fuel rail. Sorry, I'm a novice to all this stuff.
the main wiring harnes CAN't break, just pull it a little ,you need no more than 2 inches,i'm a TPI guy,but the wiring harnes it's usually free in that position, may be a little bracket somewhere.plug the injectors, turn the key and prime the system, put shop towels under there...have a fire extinguisher handy ( as a preventative measure, don't be scared).
Why bother? Send it off for testing. Lets say it isn't leaking but has a collapsed basket filter like one I had. How would you know? This is exactly why I send mine off every few years. Further to that, stock Multecs are the first thing I would toss in the trash. Without a flow bench, how will you know if the injector is having good spray pattern and similar flow numbers to the rest?
When you do an injector leak down test you don't need to connect the injectors. You're doing a mechanical test to see if the pintle in the injector is sealing, not an electric test.
