Took the car out, first time in years.
Started right up, ran some solid 11.4x's.
Here is the Timeslip of the best run of the day:
This is a 1989 Vette running a stock bottom end.

Hi Vic, great numbers. What kind of DA?
So, you haven't been in the Corvette Challenge in a while then?

Hey Vic. Glad to see the car is still running well. I see you added a C5 to the mix. Any mods for it planned?
I really had best intentions of getting to a CC event this year, but unfortunately it didn't work out. Oh well, there's always next year.

DA was about -100 to +300 , kinda varied through the day. I have seen much better DA this time of year.
Yeah , I haven't raced in a while , was cool to get back out there.

Yep, I picked up a 97 C5, bone stock , in excellent condition. No mods planned for it, just cruising a lot , already put 4K miles on it in 6 months.
Hopefully you can get to some races next year.

That's flying especially for a stock bottom end car!! If you don't mind me asking some of the details, such as what gears, converter, cam, etc.
FWIW, best I ever ran with a stock bottom end was 117.3 mph and 11.71 et. That was 4.10 gears, 3000 stall, reworked factory heads, and a hotcam.

The big items are:
TPIS ZZ9 Cam
TPIS ported 113 heads
58 mm throttle body
4K Vigilante torque convertor
3.73 gears
Hooker headers + TPIS catback
Weld wheels and Skinnies upfront

It's still a factory bottom end, never been opened up.

Hey Vic, that is really impressive, especially considering the size of that cam!! I forgot to say, I have weld wheels as well. Several years ago, I drove to NJ and purchased the one's John Mackey used to run on his 96. You probably seen those wheels and tires on many occasions.
