I just had my rear end changed from 2.59 to 3.54 as well as a shift kit installed.
now it seems like my 1-2 shift is a little late. If I'm on it it'll go up to redline and sit there for a second or two before shifting down. It seems like it should be shifting quicker.
Is this normal after the work I've had done, or should I be concerned?
I put a camera in mine and set it at the dash. My tach went to 6000 on 1-2 and 5700 or 5800 on the 2-3 shift. It should be hitting the rev limiter but it dosnt. Bottom line is my tach is off. I am in the process of locating a laptop to take to the track. With the craig moates program to see what it really is doing. If yours isnt falling on its face before it shifts, ill bet its the tach is off on yours as well.
Bradley, I have got the same problem. If you have the 700 r 4 B&M makes a governor kit to adjust the shift points. What year is your vette? If you have a 94 or newer the power programmer can adjust shift points. If not the tranny has to be pulled. Or you can do what I am doing and install the hot cam and raise the rev limiter to 6,400 rpm
