Default Bad Oxygen Sensor=Running Lean?

Hey everyone. Still trying to pass California smog. Replaced EGR Solenoid and EGR Valve. Almost passing. NOX at 15 mph still just a little bit high. Got a code P0155 heater circuit. Haven't had time to check the circuit and oxygen sensor. Did check the fuse and it was still okay. The smog tech told me that it seems like the car is running lean. Can a faulty heater circuit or oxygen sensor cause the engine to run lean?

Yes. Heater circuit codes are usually caused by a bad O2 sensor.

If you can get a GM sensor hit and miss with aftermarkets
GM parts direct has them for half of dealer price learned my lesson on trying to get rid of a knock sensor code using store bought stuff. $$$
Gotta buy 4 for mine next week. They get flaky after awhile

Starting to get a little frustrated with Ca. smog tests. I've had the car for 4 years and every year, it has passed with flying colors. Now this. I'm really tempted to say F it and put some long tube headers on it and bring it to someone I know that will "pass" my car. Really tempted!!!

Going to change the front passenger side oxygen sensor this weekend. Should I change the driver's side at the same time? It doesn't say in the FSM. Thanks again, Ed.
