If you just have broken pistons and broken valves then it sounds more like the timing chain broke, because if you have one go with nitrous then you will have hole in the pistons but they will be melted and the nitrous will not mess hurt your valves.
Go with some SRP forged pistons and some Manley valves and get a new timing chain.
Man, if you already have it ripped apart and want to run more juice, you might want to think about going with a forged crank and ARP studs too. Would be less expensive to do it now than later. JMHO
Well the chain did not break, fortunately.
Just had a major meltdown of the pistons and a krankcase explosion that messed up some of the valves badly + a few piston rings went bye bye.
Did u have bad scrashes in the cylinders after ur rings failed?
When I had the problem when I just lost a ring on the stock setup, you could not tell anything was wrong visually, but in a leak down test, the cylinder was dead. The rings from the dead cylinder looked almost new when I pulled them.
On another motor...
When I had a complete meltdown, I had some bad scratches in the cylinder walls. The machine shop originally wanted to resleeve one of the three cylinders, but ended up that is was fixable by going to +.040 over bore (from +.030).
Some updates on the prospect...
3 & 7 pistons broken with part of the top missing, the rest of them has heat expanded so that the upper ring is all loose.
Heads came off with almost no damege at all only a few small marks.
Now the heads, crankshaft and the camshaft are in the shop for a crack check and polishing. I'll go for the JE pistons and reinforced valves next.
Lucky there was no scratches in the cylinders, so a good polishing will be enough.
Maybe i'll go for a true dual at the same time, my baby is 9 feet in the air anyway....
