700R4 Throttle Valve Question
Hey guys. This is on a 700R4 I'm trying to hook up. Here's what happened. The Trans was out of the car and when I installed it, I discovered the hook that connects the TV cable to the TV linkage inside the Trans was broken in half. So I made a new one out of a coat hanger because it is very hard to find a replacement. When I adjusted the TV cable, the TV linkage is not in the fully retracted position like it is when the cable is not connected. Is this normal or should the linkage be at 6 o'clock? Thanks.

There should be at least one automatic transmission parts vendor in your area and I'd think the link is likely on the shelf. I'd maybe try this part # D74997-7 but confirm with the vendor. The Sonnax part might likely be on his shelf also. Maybe they have an opinion or a preference. ASK!

I have a real one coming in the mail, but I have made long hooks and short hooks and they always result in this position. So I imagine when I install the real one the same thing will happen. Is that normal or no?
