My 91 keeps blowing the fuse for the turn signals. It will last 5-30 minutes and pop. The hazards work regardless. I was reading some about this, and I probably have a short of some kind. How easy would this be to pinpoint?
The fuse 'pops' when you go to use the turn signals????
OR
Does it 'pop' on its own???
I assume you are driving it and the car is not sitting still and the fuse pops.
I know GM has changed the circuits...so I would have to look in my service manual and see if GM also is powering up another light of some kind....such and back-up lights.

Do you have a Factory Service Manual????

I just ordered the FSM, its on the way. It will pop when i turn the key to ON, or sometimes after an hour of driving.

Man I hate to say replace all the bulbs in the ckt. but it might be the best be at this point Older car you never know! The next best idea is to put a fuse into each leg of the ckt. in doubt and weight till the bad fuse blows!
If you get it to blow a fuse when you turn the key on...remove all the turn signal bulbs and replace the fuse and see if it blows again. IF it does...then it has nothing to do with the bulbs...you have a wire touching something metal and that is causing the problem.
Having it blow the fuse is what you want...it will be easier to find versus a fuse that blows once a month.

Do as DUB said. Pull them all first to see if the fuse blows again. Then you will know if its a bulb. Probly isnt, more likely its a socket or wiring as DUB also suggested. The wires in the back of the sockets have a tendency to get pulled out and twisted. Its the nature of the beast. Also check the circuit to see what else is on it, bound to be other stuff. Hopefully someone with the right FSM will chime in or you get yours quickly.

Good luck, electrical isnt hard, just tedious.
So take all bulbs out, and see if blows with no bulbs in sockets?

Replace the flasher. I had the same issue and the flasher had been crushed by the holder and was shorting out. I replaced it and no more problems.
