85 vette trans issues help

Default 85 vette trans issues help

Well driving on the freeway.and gunned.it and all the sudden felt like the car was in neutral let off gas seems alright then pulled off exit and only has second gear started the car in the morning all gears seem to be working but theres some terrible noise like sumthing broke in the trans then lost all gears again and only had second gear im sure this trans is toast now but I got 86 corvette tranny in good working order will this fit in the 85 ? My trans was rebuilt 2 years ago the 85 -trans and never had no prior warning of.it about to blew happened out of nowhere so 86 trans I have work in this 85 thanks for.ur help

Yes the 86 will fit. Every year GM had to improve the 700R4
Internal components.

What u dnt understand is why would my trans take a **** with no prior warning never acted funny always had firm shifts and always shift on time

Dirty fluid, low fluid, over heated, TQ, VB wear, weak front pump, extreme driving such as burnouts. 700R4's have a long history of failing.

Always change fluid since rebuilding it oh well ty

I don't think so. The big changes were in 1987 when they added the auxiliary valve body. There was an earlier change to the input shaft (30 splines vs. 27), but that happened in 1984 so it doesn't apply in your case.

Thanks guys I just found out my trans is not trans they cut the output shift down means jerkoff that rebuilt my trans kept my vette trans give me sum ******** trans with crappy cheap parts in it

My trannies have always broken without warning; planetary gears, sprag, input shaft, some multiple times, always at the starting line.

Its all.good.tho just upset they.would throw.another ********.trans in my and keeping the vette trans just wrong but when I pulled out.my old trans Instantly knew wasnt vettw trans besides the cut output shaft and didnt have the v in the trans case but the trans I pulled out was a md8 case from what I red was a good heavy duty case most likely from a truck
