I was hoping to get some performance gains from this. I had read somewhere that itll add some SOTP feel to the car. Also I assume it's all clogged up because they car's exhaust wreaks...
Yep, the rattle, and the smell, 2 sure ways to know your cat is done for..........WW

If you want SOTP feeling, get NOS stickers, Banks, etc. I probably have all the stickers from parts companies somewhere. Add all of them up and you have a 1000HP car.

Would that be 1000hp at the crank or wheels.???.....WW

Surely, as we all gathered.
It'll reek after, too, with the old, but now-unfamiliar stench of non-CAT cars.
You might search for tests to determine if the CAT is truly restricted, before wasting time on 'maybes'. (got a few of those tee shirts!)
This aftermarket exhaust' is it CAT-back or complete system or what? It the original front Y-pipe still there; the one that goes into a 4-bolt flanged CAT?
BTW, muffler shops here are very skittish about 'test pipes'. I bought one for cash-only, a number of years ago, with the promise that the guy had "never seen me". It is probably still in a garage cabinet.
Whenever one of these ricer boys goes by with a clapped out Civic with the cat removed, I can tell by the smell. If you grew up in the early 70s, every car smelled like that. Imagine the 3 hour traffic jams. Horrible for humans and air quality.
It really rankles me when people say they ripped off the emissions equipment because it was ugly, or complicated, or they think they will gain 50 horsepower. We all gotta breathe.

Yes the original y pipe is there with the 4 bolt flanged cat. So I'm guessing it was just a cat back aftermarket.
