Default Wiring question

I have the whole engine compartment wiring harness out of my 88 and only need to keep the bare minimum cause I'm going with the fast ez efi system. What basic stuff needs to be kept under the hood pipe

That all depends on WHAT the new system requires...and without that specific information...You guess is as good as anybodies.

Time to get a Factory Service Manual if you do not have one and sit down and begin to figure it out.

I have the service manual taking all the tape and loom covering off the harness. what a mess. I have to figure out how to get the connector apart where the wiring comes through the firewall. Its a giant connector with tons of wires. thanks Pipe

That's not a connector. It is just a plastic shell that the wires go through, filled with yellow gunk to keep the water out. Here are some pics that I borrowed from somebody because they do a good job of showing what's involved:

Thanks for the reply Cliff im cutting that thing apart. I will only need to keep the alt. and front lighting, cooling fan and wires to the starter. The FAST system will have the iac tps coolant temp map and air temp plus the injector connectors. So I guess I need to get rid of everything else. That thing is a pain to get apart. Pipe

I would think that you would need to keep the wiring that goes through C100 on the firewall behind the battery because the stuff for the dash goes through there.

All the ECM stuff goes through the bulkhead feedthrough.

I think there might be a few exceptions, but that should help break things down a little.
