Any body know where I can find a exploded diagram of the 87 steering column.. I broke a little plastic part and have no idea what it was . Also I can't get my key to turn to the lock position. . It just stays on the whole time..

Well maybe a lil.. I think my locking pin is on of the issues with my key not going to the lick position. . But I nee to know that the plastic part is that is on top of the lock plate.

Ugh... no not at all... The vette has a very different setup... I guess there is a lot of the same **** but before the lock plate there is a plastic "shield" I guess you would call it.. I'm pretty sure it dose something for the horn because without it my horn stays on as soon as the battery is connected.
For an early car there's this retainer, the cancelling cam and a very short tower that's inserted into the steering wheel that control horn function. You mentioned "small" and this is the most frequently demolished part broken on nearly every entry into the steering column under the steering wheel.
All of the resellers carry this part. If you search GM# 7808365 that's the retainer you should find, the tower GM # 9768768 and the Cancelling cam GM# 7849228 but both tower and cancelling cam aren't available from some of or all of the resellers.
