Back in action!
I could not wait to get back into the vette and take it for a ride.
First thing this morning after picking up my little 1 yr old boy, I went for a ride.
It good to be back and I missed the forum!
I can't wait to see how it goes.

Hey there. Great numbers! Remember the night before my tranny finally went I was putting out 285 hp and 330 ft/lbs on the dyno.
You are exactly at or about what you should be with no tuning. You get that lower A/F straightened out and you will be in the money.
I just returned from driving my car around. That new tranny for sure is gonna put me right around where you are. With my tuning it might even be a tad better, but time will tell.
I took out really hard for the first time with the new tranny. OH MY! I sat there spinning in 1st and only moved about 10 ft. Hit my shift light and nailed 2nd I had to have spun up to about 4800 RPM then it grabbed and I was cooking. I took it through the 1/4 and it really feels tough at the end. My stronger then before.
I have not touched my tune, so all the added power must be from the tranny being able to effiecently put the power to the ground.
My car would never, never do that before. I just hope I don't blow the rear with the slicks on it.
I will have to get it back down to the dyno to see where I stand.
Great to be back fellas!

Its hard to keep me way from here, but a 3rd world country will do that.
Definately not a place you could own a vette. But the place we were at was about as beautiful as you could get. Really nice. I drank enough fruit mix drink to last a person a life time.
The workers kept calling me "Drunk Kevin Costner". We met a couple down there and had an absolute blast. One night we put a decorative "just married" row boat in the resorts huge pool and paddled up to the wet bar. The workers were not very happy, but everyone loved it. I don't rememeber much more that night. Man its tough to drink all week long. I don't think you would live real long living a life like that. I probably won't drink for the next 3 months now. Well maybe not that long.
Its good to be back. How far is Numidia Raceway in Numidia, PA from you? You in NY right?
What is the track you usually go to. Now that I am unemployed for a bit I was thinking of taking some road trips and doing some racing.
Let me know.
Thanks

ATCO is very close to the shop, so I was thinking of heading over there Thursday night after I pick it up, and test out the 'ol Custom Chip. After playing musical Spark Plugs, I finally got the .035 Gapped Cut Plugs in and its running perfect. If you can't make it, let me know when your going and I'll see if I meet up with you.
I know what you mean about beautiful islands and such. When i'm there, i always wonder why everyone doesn't live there (or at least want to). Hate coming back home. I love to retire to a nice beach house in bermuda or the keys or something like that. I think i could even give up drag racing if i had to.
I am going to try to go to Numidia this Sunday. Want to meet there? Give me a call and we can finalize things.
Ralph,
I went to Etown last year. It was nearly 8hrs one way! Not a real easy thing to just get up and do. Maybe though. Now it would be much easier.
Let me know the next time there is a big gathering. I would like to come out and meet a few of you.
Talk to you later.
Possible change in plans :(
I may not be able to go this weekend now :( I may try to go tomorrow night to New Alexandria near Pittsburgh, PA. They have a test and tune from 6-10.
Sunday will not be a good day, we have a wedding to attend on Saturday. Man I really wanted to try the car out on the same track to make an even comparison. But this will have to do.
I have some tweaking to take care of before we go tomorrow.
I will definately be going to Numidia before too long. Sorry I can't make it down there.
:flag
Dad can not get out of work early today now, so we are gonna be going Sunday.
Sorry for the changes, but we will definately be going there on Sunday now. Hope you are able to make it. It should prove to be a good day. Weather is gonna be hot, but at least no rain in forcast.
Give me a call or drop me an email letting me know if you can make it. Talk to you later.
Again sorry for the changes.
Sounds like they are giving you the run around at the gargage. Hope you get it back with no problems.
Jesse

One quick question for you. Will a new timing chain mess up my chip  My brother thinks it will, especially if mine is stretched :nonod:
:flag
I would say that your timing chain will have NO effect on the chip at all. For this reason. Someone step in if I am wrong.
You set your base timing at 6* and that is what the chip knows. Now you will have to double check the base timing to make sure that it is has not changed after the chain install. Once the base is set at 6* everything will be right back to normal.
I will bring a light to check your timing for you at the track.
Why are you having the timing chain changed? I would guess that it is stretched a little, but it really shouldn't be hurting anything. The only thing it might start doing in a very extreme case is bang the cover and cause a false knock situation. I wouldn't imaging you are anywhere even close to that. You have a pretty low mileage car.
Hope to see you there. I'm sure we will be the only vettes there :)
Dad is getting the Chevelle rear gears changed back to 3.90s. At least then he can go through the traps at the end without leaving off 3/4 of the way down the strip and coasting across the line
Still pretty awesome to turn a 11.5 coasting across the line from that far out. He was politely told not to come back until a cage was put in.
