Try desktop dragstrip. You can adjust weight etc to see the affects. Keep in mind that traction, gearing, rolling resistance and wind resistance all affect performance in addition to hp.

Generally, you can get 100 hp for every 1000 lbs, so 500+50hp + or -
approximately 1/2 second off your et.
This is not exact just a generalization.
You don't actually get any horsepower, but you can make better use of what you have.

I know my car needs a diet bad (and so do I). I weighed in at 3680 last Friday...up 60 from my previous weigh-in (had about 17 gallons in the tank).
