i was thinking of installing the temp sensor from the tbi to the left head it woul read higher temp and turn on the fans sooner i was wondering has this been tried befor, thanks
Anything "can" be done. Question is, what are you really wanting it to do? if you just want the fan to come on sooner, it'd be a lot easier to adjust the fan switch that's already installed. A lot of people have added a switch located in the cabin that they can flip to have the fan come on anytime they want. But, if you really want the fan to come on based solely on the left head temp, more power to you.

You might share a little more information regarding "your car". You mention tbi in your original post and that would indicate an '84 but your further explanations maybe aren't confirming that.

its a 1990 tuned port injection just that i would prefer that the fans came on earlier i was thinking of rewiring with a after market fan controller their is one that is adjustable and has a provision for ac but i was looking to see if i could do it with out major surgery I love this car rebuilt it from bumper to bumper and i painted it too one thing i have learned next time i will pay someone to install the convertible top i did not have 3 hands, thank you
That switch appears to be for the auxiliary fan, not the main fan. The main fan is controlled by the ECM using the coolant temperature sensor on the front of the intake manifold.

That switch is for the auxiliary fan in front of the condenser. You can tell by the connector, which is the same as the knock sensor connector.
On my 84 it goes in the head between the plugs .. right side on the 84 and left side on the later years ..to 89..also used in the aux fan.. Interesting reading about the many cooling changes in the first few years..
From Corvette Central ..We offer electric cooling fan switches in four different temperature ranges. The switches will turn on the main fan, auxiliary fan or both at a lower temperature.
