Hi all, what's involved with changing the accessory belt tensioner pulley assembly? I believe mine is giving out and ate up my accessory belt. Looks like the mounting bolt runs into that front cross bar above the power steering ger at some point and it wont back it out enough to get it or the assemble out?
Ok thanks. That's what I was thinking. Either remove the AC bracket or remove that passenger side motor mount bolt and lift up on the engine a bit. Just wanted to confirm. Hopefully, the tensioner bolt out enough without having to do either. Thanks.
You should be able to remove the idler pulley assembly after loosening the bolt that holds the assembly to the bracket. The bolt does not have to come all the way out. The bolt will come out with the assembly once it is loose enough. Make sure you have your belt off the pulley so it is not putting any tension on the assembly.
Hi all. I was not able to remove the tensioner bolt because it runs right smack into the front frame cross bar located above the steering gear as you unbolt it. I was able to get the bolt out by unbolting the compressor and compressor mounting bracket bolts which allowed the compressor bracket to move up just enough to allow the tensioner bolt to completely come out.
The thing that is now puzzling is why the old belt got ripped in half length wise. The old tensioner looks good and feels good except the wheel spins mucher freely than the new one.
