o2 Removal?

Default o2 Removal?

I have removed all the emission stuff from engine - except for check valves to headers. Did not change the way the car ran or throw any codes. My question is Can I remove the CATs? Does the car have to have the o2 sensor?

You need the O2 sensor because it gives feedback tot he computer to determine the amount of fuel to feed the engine.

Where is the O2 sensor located? This is something that I should know - but don't on this car.

Depends on what year your car is. I have a 96 coupe auto. There are 4 oxygen sensors. There are 2 after the cats and 2 between the exhaust manifolds and the cats. The 2 between the manifolds and the cats are the ones that will give you a check engine light.

On an '86 the oxygen sensor is located in the front Y pipe on the driver's side just below where it attaches to the exhaust manifold:
