Default Male Hood Latch Spring

I sold my C 3 and bought a C 4 that only has 60,000 miles and is in overall excellent condition with the exception of the driver's side hood latch. It will close but rattles like a can of bolts going down the road and bounces only on teh driver's side. Like my old C 3 there is an adjustment slot on the male part at the end of the coiled spring. Nothing will move when I insert a screwdriver and will not turn either way. What should I do? I greased everything and tried to adjust the rubber stoppers but nothing seems to work. I fear any bump in the road. Any suggestions? Thanks

Well, I solved my own problem. Went to to the passenger's side and measured the rubber stops. Then went to the driver's side and made adjustments. I think I have solved the issue.
