For those of you who have the ARH headers and 3 inch exhaust with x-pipe, what mufflers are you using? It looks like the exhaust ends near the rear diff, and you would need the pipes that go from the center out to the mufflers. Does anyone sell the proper 3" pipes and 3" inlet mufflers?
Thanks
I am using the back half of the lt1 exhaust system to complete the arh system.
For mufflers, i am using dynomax super turbo for lt1 corvette mufflers.
These are a higher quality version of dynomax superturbo's that dont neck down to 2.25" like the stock ones do. They also have lt1 corvette rectangular tips.
They are discontinued, but i find some nos, at half price, by typing the part numbers into ebay.
I am using my stock LT4 mufflers with my ARH headers and cats. No drone and it has a nice rumble at idle and wot. But they are only 2 3/4" inlets although I don't think this is much of a restriction.
Yeah, but I sold my stock exhaust years ago. I have a Corsa catback, which I believe is only 2.5". I would rather keep it 3" all the way back, plus I plan to sell my Corsa exhaust when I go with the ARH setup.
Yes on blackharleymans 96 Grand Sport we tied it to his Power Effects mufflers. I think those S pipes that run under/behind the rear diff are 2.75".
On my 92 I do have the ARH headers and exhaust for it but have not had time to install it yet..... I plan to tie it to the current Corsa 2.5" mufflers using the Corsa S pipes that run under/behind the rear diff....
Even with the kind of power both of these cars make (96-430RWHP 92-487RWHP) the trouble of making the entire exhaust 3" is not really something I wanted to make a priority out of.
Exhaust gas has cooled and slowed down signifigantly by the time it reaches the rear diff.... there is just no good reason to spend time, money and effort to make it 3" all the way to the mufflers.
People often spend far too much time, money and effort on street car exhaust systems. The simple fact is that the exhaust systems on everyday street cars are way too long in length to benifit from any kind of attempt to maximizing it for size or tune it. Your stuck with however long it is to clear the bumper and length is one of the most impotant paramaters.
The most important stuff you will gain on the exhaust system is having the correct primary tube length and dia. Then focasing on how the first 18" of collector area is constructed... after that as long it's within a reasonable size compared to the collector it's all a wash unless your willing to live with an exhaust system that terminates under the car.

I have another's headers and 3" pipes and would go with the Corsa mufflers you already have. If this is a drver the drone can be bad with many mufflers, I actually went back to stockers as Borla's would drive me nuts after a few miles at highway speeds.
I'll be swapping my current header to ARH pretty soon here. It will be mating up to a magnaflow 3" system. Essentially the same setup I have now, but a different header and i'll be adding cats. Hopefully it should connect with minimal pipe work.
